Alibaba Experience Center
The brief for the Alibaba Experience Center called for a contemporary design solution that showcases the company’s innovations in the technology sector while respecting the existing natural surroundings. Our design concept envisioned an architectural centerpiece, nestled in the lush surrounding landscape made up of plants, pools and interconnected walkways. The exhibition hall features world-class screening rooms, conference halls, meeting rooms and a restaurant.
As Design Lead and Project Architect, Leandro led a team of talented designers to create the competition-winning entry. Using the latest 3d modeling tools, including generative design tools, and working closely with a team of established landscape architects, the project aimed to create a modern landmark, similar to a “UFO”, which gracefully lands in the surrounding landscape. Upon entry to the unique structure, visitors are greeted by sensor-driven holograms which guide them along their journey into the future.
Softwares used in this development include Rhino 3d, Grasshopper, Adobe Suite and CAD.
