CCTV Complex
Located in Beijing’s southernmost district, Daxing is home to China’s newest and largest airport, Daxing International Airport. The CCTV Complex serves as a transit hub for this rapidly expanding territory and is made up of a series of interconnected, underground pathways, office towers and mixed-use buildings. The jewel of the complex, CCTV Tower, contains various programs including CCTV office space, entertainment halls, a cafe and museum / urban planning exhibition hall.
As Lead designer and Project Architect Leandro’s role in this mixed-use development began with defining the project brief and communicating intent to a group of designers, consultants and city officials. Together, the team explored various design options and worked closely with city officials to find a solution that served all stakeholders. Ultimately this design was selected for its innovative use of entertainment and athletic programs and for its unique “jewel-like” design aesthetic.
Softwares used in this development include, Rhino 3d, Alias Maya, Adobe Suite and CAD.
